Business Writing Certificate – 12 credit hours

With this highly marketable certificate, you will gain a set of writing skills especially tailored to the worlds of corporate communications and business.

You will learn how to craft messaging that sells, inspires action, and tells the stories of products, services, and companies.

While this credential appeals to students looking to stand out in classes where writing and digital communication skills matter, it also appeals to working professionals—from entry-level to upper management—trying to get a leg up in the business world.

It is just 12 credits, and a simple process.

Everyone starts with the foundational, 3-credit Workplace Writing. From there, you "pick three" from an array of other up-to-date, in-demand classes:

Note: A bonus of this certificate program is that if a student takes two additional courses (ENGL 162 – Introduction to Literary Analysis, as well as a 200-level literature course (ENGL 260 or 261 – British Lit I or II; ENGL 264 or 265 – American Lit I or II; OR ENGL 272 or 273 – World Lit I or II), he or she will have taken the courses necessary for an English Minor.
