In addition to the Graduate College’s application and admission requirements (completed Admissions Application, transcripts, 3 letters of reference, written statement of professional goals), admission requirements for the M.A. in Professional and New Media Writing include the following:

  • An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
  • Evidence of writing competencies (undergraduate coursework, professional experience)

Upon admission, all graduate students in the program are assigned an advisor by the Department Chair/Graduate Coordinator. Advisors are selected appropriate to the educational and career goals of the candidate. Advisors may eventually take on the role of thesis director or reader.
