The 100% online Master of Arts in Professional and Digital Media Writing (PDMW) continues to offer ESU students a convenient opportunity to earn an innovative master’s degree in English.

Unlike traditional classrooms, the virtual experience provided by online learning eliminates the hassle of commuting to a campus, finding parking spots, and a potential hike to your class building. By enrolling in the PDMW program at ESU, you have the ability to earn yourself a master’s degree without even leaving your house!

Once you have your M.A., you’ll be amazed at the number of new job opportunities available to you, many of which are located around the greater NYC area, as well as the Lehigh Valley and Poconos.

If you get excited about the idea of research and professional writing, you may have found the perfect match in the PDMW program at ESU! If you're still wondering if the program is right for you, consider some of the benefits of this specific master's degree:

Bigger and Better Job Opportunities

If you are already working, the MA can be the ticket to moving up the ladder. A master’s degree can earn you a promotion or better title, more responsibility, and better pay. Many employers will even help you foot the bill for continuing education.

ESU is uniquely positioned geographically to give students easy access to major cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, where professional writing careers in various fields are plentiful.

Plus, ESU’s MA in Professional and Digital Media Writing is unique among writing graduate programs in the area, offering creative writing, literary, and journalistic components and a fast track to completion with just 30 credits. All of your classes are taught by a diverse and committed faculty, each of whom bring their real-world experience and writing portfolio from a variety of disciplines and fields.

Learn While You Work

If you have ever taken an online course, you already know the answer: convenience. You can access your courses anytime you need to, and you can even participate in live, video-conference seminars. Don’t quit your day job; just quit putting off your graduate degree. The live courses, as well as asynchronous, discussion-based classes give you the opportunity to build a relationship with the rest of your classmates without being tied to a regular class schedule.

A Fast and Customized Track to Graduation

Graduate school is an individual pursuit and everyone’s path will be different. However, ESU’s MA in P&DMW is structured to make your path to success speedy: just 30 credit hours. Assuming a full-time course load of 9 hours per semester, you could easily graduate in four semesters. When you are ready to graduate, you have the option of writing a thesis, or creating your own major project. This way, you can tailor your educational experience for a path to administration, professional writing, or further studies at the doctoral level.

Continuing Your Own Education

Are you a professional educator looking to meet state requirements for continuing education? The MA offers a range of fascinating graduate courses in writing, theory, and research that can help you reach your goals as an educator -- and a writer! You need not be accepted to the MA program to take graduate courses.
