Course Listings
Courses available this summer are listed and are divided by the three summer sessions:
Undergraduate courses for each session are listed first followed by graduate courses. Also included in the Course Listings are credit courses offered through the Office of Continuing Education. These courses are listed as conditional. A conditional course with insufficient enrollment may be canceled by the instructor prior to or at its first scheduled meeting.
Course Descriptions
Undergraduate course descriptions may be found in the Undergraduate Catalog available at the Office of Admission located in the Reibman Administration Building, Normal and Prospect Streets, and online. Graduate course descriptions are listed in the Graduate Catalog available at the Graduate School Office located in Zimbar 154, and online.
Cancellation of Courses
Early enrollment and payment of fees is encouraged. Courses with insufficient paid enrollment may be canceled prior to the first class meeting.
Application – Summer Enrollment for Graduate Students
The summer application cannot be used for admission to a Master's Program in the Graduate School. To resume classes in the fall or spring, or to be admitted into a degree program, contact the Graduate School for application information at 570-422-3536 or toll free 866-837-6130.
Summer Graduation
East Stroudsburg University will award degrees and post them to the official student transcripts after the completion of the Post-Session. There will be no commencement exercise, but diplomas will be mailed to all graduating students during the first week of October (approximately). Please read the specific instructions which follow for undergraduate and graduate students.
Undergraduate Students – Students who plan to graduate in August 2008 should submit an Intent to Graduate Form to the Center for Enrollment Services by April 1, 2008. Students planning to graduate in August may register for Summer Home Study courses only during the Pre- and Main Sessions. Grades for these courses must be submitted by the end of the Main Session.
- All incomplete grades must be completed by Friday, August 8, 2008.
- If you make any changes to your summer registration schedule, i.e., adding or deleting a course, inform the Center for Enrollment Services at 570-422-2800.
Graduate Students
Graduate students who anticipate completing their degree requirements by the end of the Post-Session and who would like to receive their diplomas in October must atisfy the following procedures and requirements:
- The Application for Graduation, in completed form, must be received in the Graduate School Office by May 9, 2008.
- All coursework (including the make-up of incompletes) must be completed by the end of the Post-Session (August 8, 2008).
- Oral and comprehensive examination requirements must be satisfied as described in the current ESU Graduate Catalog and notification received by the Graduate School.
- Approved thesis must be submitted by Friday, August 8, 2008.
Graduate students qualifying for graduation by Friday, August 8, 2008 who wish to participate in a commencement ceremony may walk in December 2008 marking the appropriate box on the Application for Graduation.
Those students not interested in participating in a ceremony may apply for graduation (as per item #1 above). All August graduates will receive their diplomas approximately the second week in October.
