Aqua-Tots
The Aquatics (Aqua-Tots) Swim Program is designed to teach children (6 months-15 years old) to swim and be safe in, on, and around water. The program is taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors (WSI) and consist of eight swim lessons (2 times/per week in a 4 week session).
The Infant-Toddler class is for parents and children ages 6 months to 3 years old. Parents and children participate in several guided practice sessions in the shallow end of Koehler Pool. The Preschool class is for children ages 4 and 5 years old to work independently with a WSI instructor. The Learn-to-Swim levels (Levels I-VI), start with the most basic of swimming skills and advanced through six levels following the guidelines of the American Red Cross swim program. There's instruction for all ages (6-15 years old) and abilities to help improve swimming and water safety skills.
East Stroudsburg Community Dance Program
These classes are taught by student members of the East Stroudsburg University Dance Company under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Gibbons, and by community guest artists.
Dance as a creative form is the focus of the children's dance classes for 4-5 year olds. Children 6-8 years old focus on ballet and lyrical dance. Musical Theater dance, with an emphasis on jazz dance, is the theme for 9-13 year olds and 13-15 year olds.
Classes are held in the Dance Studio on the 2nd floor of Koehler Fieldhouse. Registration fee varies according to the length of the session. More information may be requested by contacting the Office of Continuing Education at 570-422-2872.
