ESU's Hemlock Residence Hall
Announce Give Hope Hair Donate-A-Thon Nov. 2 To Susan G. Komen for the Cure And Locks of Love

Students who live in East Stroudsburg University's Hemlock Residence Hall are teaming up with Salon Evol in Stroudsburg, Pa., to hold a "Give Hope Hair Donate-A-Thon" on Monday, November 2 from noon to 5:00 p.m. in the Keystone Room. The event is open to the general public, and there will be live entertainment, games and informational tables provided for visitors.

For a nominal fee of $10.00 attendees will receive a haircut with all proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (formerly The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), the internationally-known grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists launched in 1982 with a mission to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Those who are donating hair to Locks of Love will receive the haircut at no cost. Locks of Love, a national non-profit organization launched in 1997, will use the donated hair to provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

This community outreach initiative is sponsored by the Hemlock Hall Community Board and Resident Advisor Staff. For more information or for special accommodations, contact Shareen Zaghloul at (570) 239-3819, Jessany Hipshman at (201) 396-9053, or Mike Mcgurl at (570) 351-7974.
