ESU to Hold Open House for its Rooftop Observatory At Hoeffner Science and Technology Center
Stunning up-close views of the stars, the Moon, Jupiter and other deep sky objects will be taken in by those attending the highly anticipated rooftop Observatory Open House at the new East Stroudsburg University Hoeffner Science and Technology Center on Saturday, October 24 beginning at 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. A variety of telescopes, including the 16” reflector in the main dome will be available for viewing with the assistance of instructors.
The ESU Physics Department and the Science Teachers’ Association at ESU are sponsoring the event. The open house is suitable for children as well as adults. Children must be closely supervised by a responsible adult as the Observatory is located on the roof of the Science and Technology Center. The Observatory and Science and Technology Center roof are non-smoking areas. Those planning to visit the Observatory are asked to meet in the main lobby of the Science and Technology Center and await instructions from the volunteers.
