ESU to Host Classic Car Show
On October 24th, East Stroudsburg University will welcome classic car enthusiasts to campus for an event to raise funds for the State Employee Combined Appeal, the umbrella organization that provides funding to charitable agencies statewide, including the Monroe County United Way.
This event, presented by the Monroe County Cruisers, will feature a DJ playing 1950s music, a raffle, and a "Chinese Auction." Trophies will be awarded to "People's Choice" vehicles. The car show is open to the public, and will take place at ESU's baseball field (near the football stadium) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Mary Ann Fish, the event coordinator, is the Manager of Facilities Systems at ESU. She hopes to attract 100 cars to the show, and has been promoting the event at classic car shows. She anticipates having a large turnout, and being able to raise a sizeable donation for SECA.
"I think it's going to be a really nice show," she said. "We're hoping to have at least 60 cars, but we're really aiming for 100."
For those interested in showing their vehicles, the registration fee is $10 per car. Registration will take place the morning of the show, but interested vehicle owners may call Mary Ann Fish at (570) 422-3632.
