Leveraging Free Technology For Your Business or Non-Profit Seminar Series

East Stroudsburg University’s Center for Research and Economic Development (CFRED) and the East Stroudsburg Corporate University (ESCorpU) have announced two fall seminars which will be offered as part of a Leveraging Free Technology for your business or non-profit series. “Leveraging Facebook © for Organizations,” will be held October 24, November 14, December 12 and, “Introduction to Web 2.0 for Organizations,” is scheduled for November 7 and December 5.

Both seminars will be held in the Hoeffner Science and Technology Center on campus, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will be facilitated by Dr. Robert Marmelstein who has over twenty two years experience with R&D, systems integration, and software acquisition. Dr. Marmelstein is a current faculty member in the ESU Computer Science department, and the CEO of Situational Awareness Systems, LLC., a company that specialize in developing advanced information systems for the Defense, Homeland Security, and Medical domains. Their mission is to create software that delivers the right information, in the right form, at the right time. The resulting solutions provide users with the situational awareness to make the best possible decisions for any contingency. In time critical, life and death situations, this ultimately translates into saving lives and property while enhancing security.

“In today’s tough economic business climate, it is very important for private companies and non-profits to utilize as much free technology as possible. With the internet’s social networking phenomenon, there are many resources out there, free-to-use, that can provide outstanding rewards from marketing your organization to business development,” said Miguel Barbosa, East Stroudsburg University director of workforce development. “One thing that many organizations still don’t realize is how powerful social-networking sites are for their potential growth.”
