ESU's Gamma Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education, Conducts Initiation and Installation of Officers

The Gamma Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education) conducted its annual Initiation and Installation of Officers, May 4, at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, Pa.

Inducted were 42 new student members and 5 professional members. KDP recognized Dr. Heather Garrison as the Outstanding Professor of the Year. Dr. Garrison is a professor in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation. KDP also recognized Mr. David Bartosiewicz as the Outstanding Educator of the Year. Mr. Bartosiewicz is a teacher in the Pocono Mt. School District as the Outstanding Educator of the Year. In addition, Bartosiewicz is also a cooperating teacher for ESU's Student Teaching Experience in the Pocono Mt. School District.

Kappa Delta Pi is a network of 45,000 members who include the best and brightest scholars and practitioners in education. KDP recognizes scholarship and excellence in education. ESU has had a KDP chapter since 1931.

Dr. Pamela Kramer Ertel is faculty advisor of the ESU chapter and president elect of KDP International.
