University Ridge, ESU's new student apartment complex, opened to 541 students this fall (2005). The stunning ten-building complex reflects the newest trend in university student apartment style housing. ESU partnered with Capstone Development Corp. a professional student housing management team, and University Properties, Inc. (UPI), a not for profit Pa. corporation, to complete the new student housing project in record time.
University Ridge is an example of one of the newest national innovations in collaborative student housing development and construction. Students rent directly from the builder and not from the university. The property is located on East Brown Street between Smith Street and State Route 447.
There are 135 apartment type units. Each unit has four private bedrooms with full size beds, two shared bathrooms and a living room with kitchenette. The units are fully furnished, have central air and heat, and a washer and dryer. All utilities are included in the rent including cable TV and Internet connections in each bedroom. There is also a community center with TV lounge, cyber lounge, meeting/study room, fitness center, game room, vending area, mailboxes and management and rental offices as well as almost 500 parking spaces.
