To strengthen the business environment of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and our region, WEDnetPA was developed to provide a training network responsive to employers' workforce development needs. This network is called The Guaranteed Free Training (GFT) Program. East Stroudsburg University of PA is one of the statewide WEDnetPA Partners authorized to apply for funding on your behalf. Please contact Miguel Barbosa, Director of Workforce Development, for more information.

The WEDnetPA-managed GFT Program offers two training programs. These programs give qualified in-state businesses and out-of-state companies relocating to the economic-friendly business climate of Pennsylvania the opportunity to train new and existing employees.

The first program, Basic Skills Training, provides instruction in a variety of basic and entry-level skills. Information Technology Training, the second program, provides instruction in a variety of information technology and advanced applied manufacturing subjects.

Basic Skills Training: Fundamental Skills Needed for Workplace Success

Basic Skills are defined according to the type and scope of the business. Some of the training elements offered through the program include:

  • Manufacturing Fundamentals

Training can be received offsite, onsite at your business, or online.

Information Technology Training: High-Tech Skills Needed for Workplace Success

Information Technology skills are defined according to the type and scope of your business. Some of the training elements offered through the program include:

  • Information Security
  • Management Information Systems
  • Network Administration
  • Software Engineering
