IASSURE Computer Security Training Conference to be held at ESU/Qualifying Firms and Employees Eligible for Scholarships to Attend

Backbone Security.com and East Stroudsburg University are joining forces once again to offer their second major computer security training conference. It will be held on the university's campus June 3rd to 6th, 2002.

Backbone Security.com and East Stroudsburg University are joining forces once again to offer their second major computer security training conference. It will be held on the university's campus June 3rd to 6th, 2002.

Training is the first benefit for businesses and employees attending the IASSURE02 conference. IASSURE02 will feature training designed to provide real–world computer security experience through presentations by a professional "cyber warrior" who defended the nation's government and industry during actual attacks. University computer science professors and Certified Information Systems Security Professionals will also be among the trainers. Participants will be provided with a set of tools that will help clarify the field of Information Security and, in doing so, open the doors for more specialized training, ranging from support desk levels to the level of senior executives.

"Our first IASSURE conference endeavor was such a success last August that we decided we would organize future computer security training conferences with East Stroudsburg University," said Bart Guerreri, Backbone Security.com's owner and Chairman of the Board. "In fact, we had such a favorable response to our last effort we announced to the public at that time that it is was our intention to proceed with offering future conferences that address security issues in the technological world, department by department," he said.

State scholarship funds may be available to qualifying firms to help offset the conference's registration fee. If a Pennsylvania based company meets basic criteria, full–time permanent employees residing in Pennsylvania are eligible to receive a scholarship to attend the conference. "The funds would offset the IASSUREO2 registration costs allowing business to train and retain highly skilled workers," said Glenn Watt, President of Backbone Security.

"East Stroudsburg University is proud to co–sponsor this conference and to be a partner with BackboneSecurity.com in examining today's pervasive threats to computer security on all levels," said Dr. Robert Dillman, president of East Stroudsburg University. "Attendees will get a close look at the standards and practices, among a variety of other topics, that are keys to implementing good computer security."

The seminar will cover a variety of computer security threats such as viruses, trojans, and malware, by looking at real–world attacks and scenarios. In addition, the attendees will learn some computer security solutions, computer security standards and computer forensics.

The conference is designed to educate the computer science professional in an information technology shop as well as average computer users looking to broaden their computer knowledge. Anyone interested in attending the conference and determining scholarship eligibility should contact Maria Ferry at Backbone Security.com: (888) 805-4331.
