What is the Pocono Mountain Angel Network (PMAN)?
The Pocono Mountains Angel Network is an Accredited Investor's membership organization designed to
provide its members with investment opportunities including but not limited to investments in the areas of Homeland Security, Advanced
Manufacturing, Healthcare, Information Technology, Life Sciences/Biotechnology, and Financial Services.
What are the membership requirements?
To become a member of the Pocono Mountains Angel Network, an individual must be an Accredited Investor.
What is an Accredited Investor?
Accredited Investor as defined in rule 501 (a) regulation D promulgated
under the Securities Act of 1933 by the United States Securities and
Exchange Commission:
- Any natural person whose individual net worth, or joint net worth with that person's spouse, at the time of his/her purchase exceeds $1,000,000.
- Any natural person who had an individual income in excess of $200,000 in each of the two most recent
years or joint income with that person's spouse in excess of $300,000 in each of those years and who expects to reach same income level in the current year.
- Certain corporations, partnerships, trust or other legal entities with assets in excess of $5,000,000.
Is the Pocono Mountain Angel Network a venture capital fund?
No. Each accredited investor of PMAN makes her or his own investment decisions. No investments are made in companies by PMAN itself or on behalf of its accredited investors.
Who is organizing the Pocono Mountain Angel Network?
The Pocono Mountain Angel Network is being established by the East Stroudsburg University Center
for Research and Economic Development, a 501(c) 3 private, nonprofit
corporation that serves as the coordinator of the Pocono Mountains
Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) and operates the University's Business
Accelerator Program. An initial meeting of interested Accredited
Investors will be convened and an organizational structure will be
established by the members.

The Pocono Mountain Angel Network is a member of the Pennsylvania
Angel Network (PAN), a statewide organization designed to offer support
to angel groups consisting of more than two thousand angels throughout
the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By increasing individuals' knowledge
base through information sharing, PAN provides an opportunity to assist
angels in making connections with companies and to make the most of
