Policy Statement:

All ESU students in extended housing/temporary triples are awarded a partial housing rebate according to the specifications and process outlined herein.

All students who remain in extended housing on an involuntary basis accrue a weekly housing rebate.

For current rebate rates, please contact the Housing and Operations office.

At the conclusion of the fall semester, the Housing and Operations office creates a rebate request for each student, that is sent to the Enrollment Services department for processing.

Depending on the current financial status of each student, the rebate may either go directly onto their outstanding bill, or if their account is clear, they will receive a check for the rebate.

It is important to note that the rebate only applies to students who are in extended housing on an involuntary basis.

If a double room becomes available and a student is offered a chance to move by the Housing and Operations office, and the student declines the offer, the rebate ceases for all three roommates at that point.

Students opting not to un-triple and move out of extended housing sign a statement to that effect.

Appeal Statement:

There is no appeal to this policy.

Definitions:

Extended Housing occurs when double rooms are temporarily increased in occupancy to triple rooms, in order to accommodate a class of incoming first-year students.
