ESU students committment to acheive a sustainable campus includes participation in a variety of educational and interesting sustainable activities, outreach campaigns and undertaking sustainability related research projects.
The two student sustainable groups on campus are: The Go Green Committee and the Students for Sustainability Group.
During Spring 2014, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Go Green Committee was honored with the Environmental Committee Save Our Planet Award from the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce. The Save Our Planet Awards recognize local businesses, non-profit organizations, institutions, groups and individuals for their commitment to protecting or improving Monroe County’s environment. ESU’s Residence Life GO GREEN Committee’s continued commitment to sound environmental practices is certainly worthy of recognition, the Chamber said in a statement.
