CAMPUS CLEAN UP: Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11.00am

The Residence Life "Go Green" committee conducts monthly campus clean-ups on Fridays at 11:00am beginning at Minsi Hall on the quad. These clean-ups are generally the day before a major campus event such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, or the ESU Admission's Open House. Volunteers are always welcome.

In conjunction with the ESU Recycling Committee, the "Go Green" committee will assist with a litter control project titled, "Cash for Trash." Students observed picking up, and properly disposing of, litter have a chance of winning $5.00 on the spot in instant cash. Members of the committee will "go undercover" and reward those students that they observe picking up litter. A marketing campaign for this initiative will begin shortly.

In the past the student organizations have participated in such events. If they are interested in participating again they should meet in front of Minsi Hall to pick up a grabber, gloves and plastic bags.

Residence hall athletic shoe recycling competition. The challenge resulted in 363 pairs of athletic shoes being collected to be used in playground surfaces and athletic fields.
